ECOVACS DEEBOT Common Errors and Fixes

A practical Canadian service-center guide to DEEBOT voice alerts, station water-tank faults, Wi-Fi setup errors, and when a robot should be sent for repair.

Most ECOVACS DEEBOT models report problems as voice prompts and ECOVACS HOME app alerts rather than a single numeric code on the robot. Numeric codes mainly appear during Wi-Fi setup. This guide summarizes the faults Atravesar technicians see most often from Canadian owners, what to try at home, and when to stop and request repair.

First response for almost every alert

  1. Read the exact alert text in the app — photograph it if you will email us later.
  2. Power the robot off, wait ten seconds, power on again.
  3. Clear hair and debris from brushes, wheels, and the laser turret if your model has one.
  4. Wipe cliff sensors and charging contacts with a dry cloth.
  5. Retry a short clean from the dock.

If the same alert returns immediately after those steps, you are likely past an owner-level fix.

Navigation and sensor alerts

LDS component malfunction

The spinning laser turret on top cannot map. Move the robot out from under furniture, clear hair at the turret base, flick the turret to confirm free spin, then restart. Persistent failure after cleaning usually means the LDS module needs service.

dToF sensor crashed

Common on newer embedded-LiDAR models. Wipe the sensor window, dock the robot, and power-cycle. Recurring crashes after cleaning point to module or board-level work.

Bumper stuck / driving wheel stuck / brush tangled

Mechanical jams. Power off, clear debris, confirm bumper spring-back and wheel rotation by hand, reinstall brushes firmly, restart. Replace bent side brushes rather than forcing them.

OMNI station and water-system alerts

  • Clean water tank empty (even when full) — reseat the tank, free the float, press the sealing plug.
  • Dirty water cannot recycle / sink abnormal — empty the waste tank, clear the sink filter and suction port, wipe the overflow sensor, run station self-clean.
  • Auto-empty failed / bag full — confirm bag seating, close the cabin, clear dustbin flaps under the robot, re-dock squarely.
  • Robot and station cannot communicate — power station on first, then robot; manually dock on clean contacts.

Wi-Fi setup error codes

Common ECOVACS HOME setup codes include 10010 / 10018 / 10025 (cannot join network), 10016 / 10017 (configuration timed out), and 10502 / 10503 (credential handoff timed out). Fixes that usually work:

  • Stay within about 3 metres of the router during setup.
  • Use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi when the model requires it.
  • Disable phone mobile data and keep the phone on the ECOVACS_xxxx hotspot until progress passes halfway.
  • On some Samsung phones, disable “Switch to mobile data” / auto network switch.

Wi-Fi pairing failures alone rarely require hardware repair. Hardware repair becomes likely when the robot cannot hold a previously working connection after router-side checks fail.
